As an event organizer, you can issue refunds for WePay & Stripe events directly through the Ticketbud dashboard. PayPal refunds cannot be processed through the Ticketbud dashboard and fees incurred are not refunded.
Offline & comp tickets cannot be refunded, but can be deleted if needed. Check out the delete tickets section below for more information.
How to Issue a Refund (WePay & Stripe)
- To get started, sign up or log in to Ticketbud and create an event. If you've already created an event, click My Events on the top navigation bar and select your current event. Navigate to your event's Dashboard and select Ticket Sales from the left pane.
- Click on the refund icon located underneath the transaction status.
- You will be redirected to new page prompting you to confirm the refund. This will refund the transaction back to the ticket purchaser. It is not possible to issue a partial refund on the Ticketbud dashboard. Please see more information on partial refunds below.
- Once you confirm the refund, please allow 3-5 days for the funds to post to your attendee's account.
WePay Customers: Please note that if more than 60 days have passed from the initial transaction date, it is not possible to issue a refund through the Ticketbud dashboard. Please contact WePay support for further assistance.
Partial Refunds
WePay: to process a partial refund for a transaction on WePay, please contact WePay support directly with your request. You can submit a request here.
Please submit the request from the email address associated with the WePay account. We recommend including the name and email address associated with the transaction, as well as amount to be refunded in your initial request to make the process as quick and efficient as possible.
Stripe: to process a partial refund for a transaction on Stripe, log in to your Stripe account. Navigate to your Payments dashboard by choosing Payments from the left pane. Scroll through the list of transactions or look it up with the search tool. Click on the transaction and select the Refund icon located at the top of the page. You will then be prompted to issue a refund with a field to enter the amount to be refunded.
Delete a Ticket
Issuing a refund through the Ticketbud dashboard automatically deletes the ticket from your sales. There are instances where you may need to delete a ticket that was refunded directly through WePay, Stripe, or Paypal and not on the Ticketbud dashboard. You may also need to delete an offline or comp ticket.
You can delete a ticket on the Ticket Sales page on your dashboard. Click on the + icon next to the purchaser's transaction followed by the x icon below to delete the ticket.
